lizzard and the Diablo team just dropped a classic Hell-ish bomb on us. They are announcing a partnership with GoG.com to re-release Diablo I in two different formats. Also, this marks the first time the game has been released in a digital format and DRM-free for the first time ever, exclusively on GOG.COM!
The Base Version:
Travelers looking for the authentic Diablo experience can play the game as it was in 1996, with period-appropriate 20 FPS SVGA graphics, and the ability to matchmake through the classic version of Blizzard’s Battle.net® online-gaming service.
The Blizzard/GoG.com Enhanced Version:
For those wanting something a bit more modern, Blizzard and GOG.COM have collaborated on an updated version of the game tuned for today’s gaming PCs, which includes out-of-the-box Windows 10 compatibility, a host of bug fixes and high-resolution support. Please note that this version cannot connect to Battle.net and only supports multiplayer via LAN and P2P connection.

The last few months have seen many jobs lost within the games industry. Now, Valve has become the latest company to let go of some employees. The firm has confirmed it laid off an unspecified number of contractors along with thirteen full-time workers, many of whom were working on virtual reality hardware.
Today at GDC, adventure developer Quantic Dream announced that they're partnering with the Epic Games Store to provide PC ports for select games in their library for the first time ever.
Billed as a "one year exclusive distribution agreement," Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and Detroit: Become Human (arguably their most successful release from multiple angles) will all hit the Epic Store first "later this year."
During its GDC 2019 Unreal keynote this morning, Epic announced that it has partnered with 2K's Private Division label to distribute The Outer Worlds and Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey on the Epic Games Store. PC Gamer has learned that The Outer Worlds will also release on the Microsoft Store, but will not appear on other stores on PC for at least a year—that includes Steam.
Revealed onstage at GDC 2019 during “State of Unreal,” Chaos is Unreal Engine’s new high-performance physics and destruction system coming in early access to Unreal Engine 4.23. The real-time tech demo is set within the world of Robo Recall. With Chaos, users can achieve cinematic-quality visuals in real time in scenes with massive-scale levels of destruction, with unprecedented artist control over content creation.
Introducing Rebirth, a real-time cinematic produced by Quixel, harnessing the power of Unreal Engine and real-world scans from the Megascans Icelandic collection. With photorealistic results rivaling traditional offline renderers, Rebirth represents a new way of crafting computer graphics. Set in the beautiful, other-worldly landscapes of Iceland, Rebirth brought together a team from VFX, games and ArchViz to produce a cinematic asking existential questions of machine/human hybrids.
---Company gives $1 a day in gift cards to employees using a pregnancy-tracking app that allows HR to monitor aggregated data
The studio — and we are not making this up — bribes its female employees with gift cards to install and use Ovia, an app that tracks their reproductive activity. And yes, this includes when they have sex, details about their pregnancy, moods, and even “the appearance of their cervical fluid.” The company then pays Ovia for “anonymized, aggregated” data covering users under its roof. This is only part of an ongoing trend of ways that Activision Blizzard is attempting to track the health of its employees.
