Eh, let me be pretentious again. Mi se pare mai slaba in sensul ca aici se prefera claritatea in locul limbajului straniu si poetic ce contribuia la suprarealismul primului, personajul pe care il controlezi in demo e mai arogant de data asta, am vazut chiar si replici un pic cringe-worthy, iar unele aspecte ce tineau de subtilitate si mister si-au mai pierdut si ele din magie aici.

Ma enerveaza si ca au schimbat coloana sonora, cea din original era o capodopera cu sunete neobisnuite, apasatoare si memorabile, pe cand aici suna foarte generic. Desi are totusi efect asupra atmosferei, nu iti ramane nimic in memorie o data ce ai iesit din joc.

Astea fiind zise, nu e chiar oribil daca il luam ca pe ceva de sine statator si probabil va avea ceva frumos de oferit pentru cei care nu sunt obsedati ca mine de original. Mai ales ca va fi mult mai jucabil dpdv tehnic (bine, demo-ul are probleme, dar au promis ca nu va fi cazul la varianta completa :lol:)

Recently, a very important change occured in our lives: Pathologic got itself a publisher, the very energetic tinyBuild company. Which means a bunch of things.
Actually, it's such a twiggy bunch that if you're the type of person to ignore links on social media, now may be a good moment to make an exception. Kind of hard to fit it all here.

We’re changing the development methodology to become more open, similar to what tinyBuild did with Hello Neighbor — allowing in-development access to game builds to fans who support the development
To be clear: tinyBuild is coming on board to help produce Pathologic 2, acting as a publishing partner.
Being Kickstarter backers, soon you will receive the first Alpha build of Pathologic 2. The build will have a slightly smaller town and a few systems in place to demonstrate the atmosphere and some of the upcoming gameplay mechanics. We will gather feedback from fans, and adjust the direction of development based on this feedback.

Sper să le iasă bine și să fie cât de cât accesibil și pentru neinițiați - gameplay-istic vorbind. Am încercat să joc originalul, însă mă băgase în ceață și nu îmi era clar ce am de făcut. Apoi m-au prins doi golani pe o străduță și au început să-mi care pumni - game over. O să încerc să-l reiau dar... meh.

Q. Tell us more. Who is in control now? Who makes creative decisions?

We kept our independence, IP, and creative control. tinyBuild is an indie publisher. They work with small teams and have no reason to change our style. They merely want to make the game known to broader audiences—a desire that we share.

No one says stuff like, “Let’s recolor the Changeling—blonds are all the rage now”, or “Twelve days are too much, how about five?” We always have the final say in all things creative.

That said, tinyBuild are not silent, of course. They do provide feedback. “Adding a lamp made looting much more engaging.” “Currently, recoil doesn’t make it clear if you have more ammo or not.” “The street ambience works really well, adding to the atmosphere; can we have more of that?” An outsider’s look is useful—especially late in the development, when you tend to get tunnel vision.

Most importantly though, they do truly like Pathologic 2. So we have a common goal.


Q. Why do you need a publisher?

If you take a closer look at the modern game industry, you’ll notice that only 2-3 unusual projects a year enjoy significant success, be it The Stanley Parable or the recent Hellblade. Apart from its quality, there are other factors that determine if an indie project becomes a hit. And marketing is key here: finding a way to convince the audience to try something new and unexpected can go a long way. This is why we partnered up with tinyBuild—the people who both know how to market games and love Pathologic 2.

Q. But you’ve got a ton of money from Kickstarter. And now you run to an investor?

We would very much liked to live in the world where truly crowdfunding medium-sized projects is possible. But we’re not. Torment: Tides of Numenera got way more money than us and was made by a much more notorious team, yes Brian Fargo still invested personal money into it.

Unfortunately, gamemaking is more expensive than you might think. Especially if we’re talking about a 3D game that requires many assets and animations.

We knew from the start that we would never collect enough money for the whole development and have already invested much more personal savings into it than we got from Kickstarter. So you and us are in the same boat.
@Mahdi: Am vrut sa-ti scriu dar ma gandeam ca o sa-ti raspunda neolith mai detaliat. In fine, iti trebuie multa rabdare pana te obisnuiesti, salveaza la inceputul fiecarei zile, verifica quest-urile si uitate pe map dupa markere (toate casele cu rosu au un NPC important in ele). De obicei iti incercuieste pe map acolo unde trebuie sa te duci, mai ai si quest-uri secundare (toate quest-urile sunt secundare intr-un fel, daca termini o zi fara sa faci nimic nu primesti game over imediat), la inceputul fiecarei zile iti vei planifica o ruta de tipul "trebuie sa ajung in cealalta parte a orasului sa vorbesc cu cineva dar in drumul meu as putea trece si pe la alte NPC-uri, poate au ceva de zis sau poate ca astazi chiar ar fi indicat sa vizitez pe cineva anume la care pot ajunge in drumul meu catre main objective"

Bine, mai sunt lucruri neimportante precum economia, sanatatea, nevoile pc-ului, trading dar astea sunt usoare (max it, sell everything and buy food in the first day). Eu cel putin imi amintesc de un truc pe care l-am folosit de fiecare data cand eram atins de un nor de boala, se cheama quick load. No but seriously imi amintesc cum m-am dus la culcare intr-o seara cu o farama de HP si bara de infection aproape plina, nu-ti spune nimeni ce fac medicamentele asa ca dupa o zi doua de trial and error am luat nu stiu ce pastile si dimineata n-am murit (asa cum ma asteptam) ci m-am vindecat complet yay, dupa m-am folosit de quick load in restul jocului

Ahem nu recomand aceasta strategie, ia din savoarea(sudoarea) jocului. Oricum acum mai bine astepti jocul nou sa apara iar daca-ti place poti sa incerci sa-l duci pana la capat si pe primul. Bine indiferent de jocul nou iti recomand sa-l mai incerci pe primul (dar iti trebuie destul de mult timp liber)

AHA si foarte important, stiu ca au avut mai multi problema asta, nici eu nu mi-am dat seama pana pe la jumatatea jocului dar inafara de butonul pentru map si pentru objectives mai ai un buton care-ti deschide o fereastra cu scrisori primite de la npc-uri. De obicei se aude ca un sunet de fosnet de hartie (parca) si apare un simbol in dreptul ecranului (la fel se intampla si cand iti updateaza mapa sau quest-ul). Incearca toate butoanele pana descoperi butonul pentru asta, mesajele acelea o sa te ajute sa intelegi mai bine unde trebuie sa te duci, plus informatii despre personaje

Au inlocuit coloana sonora ce era o capodopera in original cu ceva generic, au schimbat stilul scriiturii intr-unul mai banal si try-hard in acelasi timp, lipsit de magia si misterul primului, hell, au schimbat si chestii ce adaugau un mare plus de atmosfera si world building prin enigmele reprezentate de Executori. Asta din ce am vazut in demo. Mi-am dat seama ca se indeparteaza de original de cand cu varianta HD unde au inlocuit stilul inconfundabil rusesc al scriiturii cu ceva americanizat ce se dadea peste cap sa clarifice pasajele mai reci si succinte din primul, distrugand ritmul dialogurilor.

Deja nu-mi place, huo, dar astept sa il joc so I can bash it.

The Alpha consists of Days 1-3 of the Haruspex's story.
