The Idiot’s Tale

Post by ola small dickie »

"Apart from one dumb design decision, this highly amusing fantasy adventure lovingly sticks it to King's Quest while establishing a charming style all its own."

The Good:

Comedy infuses every aspect of the game, from the dialog to the visual gags
Artwork is unique, varied and colourful
Soundtrack is wonderfully eclectic
Hint system extremely well designed

The Bad:

Allows actions that lead to dead ends
Voiced dialog would certainly enhance the whole experience

Our Verdict:

The Idiot’s Tale is just a fun game to play, with a sarcastic, irreverent humour that permeates everything and lovingly throws shade at classic adventure titles. There are a couple of potentially serious negatives, but these are completely overshadowed by the enjoyable overall experience.
