Sam & Max Save the World – Remastered

Post by ola small dickie »

"It doesn't reproduce the same culture shock of the original, but the Freelance Police look, sound, and play better than ever in this modern makeover of their first episodic season."

The Good:

Fun comedic romp through a variety of increasingly bizarre scenarios
The closest realization of Steve Purcell’s visual style in a game yet
Good use of lighting and camera angles
Control schemes for everyone

The Bad:

Early episodes can feel a bit repetitive when played back-to-back
Tinkering with Bosco may be a bit too George Lucas for longtime fans
Inventory system is somewhat clunky

Our Verdict:

Sporting improved visual and audio quality, the remastered Sam & Max Save the World lovingly updates the episodic classic, though a few tweaks and changes may leave it just shy of being the definitive version for some longtime fans of the original.
