Call of the Sea

Post by ola small dickie »

"Though its story offers few surprises, this gorgeous, puzzle-filled island adventure with a Lovecraftian influence proves to be highly alluring."

The Good:

Gorgeous, highly varied environments
Mostly satisfying puzzles that increase naturally in difficulty
Immersive music and sound effects
Excellent voice acting by Cissy Jones as the protagonist

The Bad:

Story reveals its hand too soon and exposition is on-the-nose
A few unclear puzzles
Sluggish movement speed

Our Verdict:

While its story relies on well-worn clichés, Call of the Sea is an otherwise compelling supernatural tale of self-discovery that will dazzle your eyes, delight your ears, and delightfully rack your brain.
