Orwell’s Animal Farm

Post by ola small dickie »

"More management sim than adventure, this cropped-down narrative-driven adaptation effectively explores the sociopolitical themes of the 1945 classic novel."

The Good:

Successful adaptation of the novel’s tone and philosophy in game form
Writing is very good and evocative of Orwell
Voiced narration is nicely mood-setting
Solid balance between interaction and appropriately pessimistic contemplation

The Bad:

Repeat playthroughs not that different
Choices may seem too rigid and austere
Some minor bugs

Our Verdict:

Orwell’s Animal Farm is a very good reimagining of the famous novel, staying true to the spirit of the dystopic Republic of the Animals. Though it lacks the kind of puzzles and gameplay to make it a full-fledged adventure, it’s a must-play for those who would enjoy a well-executed exploration of a classic novel.
