Omri Cohen is a familiar name for anyone interested in the eurorack modular emulation named VCV Rack. He is one of the leaders who takes time from basic tutorials to full-on patching from scratch, turning a few notes into hypnotizing ambient ideas. Watching him work is inspiring, provides insights on how to make music, and liberates the myth that modular-made music is for nerds only. Archipel is excited to open its doors to a first release by Cohen, featuring a direction we haven't heard him explore too much. Embracing a mixture of ambient, polyrhythmic techno and epic Blade Runner themes, Cohen drives the listener into a realm that evokes sci-fi tones, with a power we didn't know him doing.
