Why can't I access certain Steam features?

How do I gain access to these features?
You will need to spend at least $5.00 USD within the Steam store.
Some examples of purchases that grant access to these features are:

• Adding the equivalent of $5 USD or more to your Steam Wallet
• Purchasing game(s) that are equal to $5 USD or more from the Steam store
• Adding a Steam Wallet card to your Steam account
• Purchasing a Steam gift that is equal to $5 USD or more from the Steam store (Receiving a Steam gift from a friend doesn't count)

What features are unavailable to me?
Limited users are prevented from accessing several features on Steam, including but not limited to:

• Sending friend invites
• Opening group chat
• Voting on Greenlight, Steam Reviews and Workshop items
• Participating in the Steam Market
• Posting frequently in the Steam Discussions
• Gaining Steam Profile Levels (Locked to level 0) and Trading Cards
• Submitting content on the Steam Workshop
• Posting in an item's Steam Workshop Discussions
• Accessing the Steam Web API
• Using browser and mobile chat

Where were you when the Steam Community Market suffered a currency meltdown? I was in bed, snoring. But a lot of people were awake, taking advantage of the fact that a glitch had valued the Indonesian Rupiah at exactly the same as the US dollar, 1:1.
In reality, a single dollar is worth about 13,000 Rupiahs. You can see why this might cause the odd issue - or, as it was, for almost every cheap item on the Market to be vacuumed up by those taking advantage of the currency mix-up. This thread on Reddit popped up with a few screens highlighting what happened.
For example, a cheap item like this Strange Killstreak Wrench usually sells for about $3 - on any other day that would be 39,000 Rupiahs. But just a few hours ago it was going for 3 Rupiahs, which is worth zero, nothing, nada to the seller. While the pricing glitch was screwing up the cost displayed, currency conversion was still at play behind the scenes, so it was seriously screwing over non-Indonesian sellers.

The Community Market was closed down for a few hours while the problems were fixed behind the scenes. As you would expect, Valve looks to have rolled back to before the issues arose, and players have been reporting they're seeing sold items returned to their inventories and updated Steam Wallet balances.

Am văzut pe market Chroma 2 Case cu 0.03 dar nu m-a dus căpățâna să cumpăr 10-20 ca să le vând acum cu 1,24 una. Mi-am imaginat că atât a scăzut prețul lor... FUCK IT!

SteamOS update 159 released
We have just updated the released alchemist repository. This is the same content that was pushed to alchemist_beta last week.

The changes include an updated NVIDIA driver, updated branding, and the latest security updates.

Note that older NVIDIA video cards (G8x, G9x, and GT2xx GPUs, and motherboard chipsets based on them) are no longer supported by this NVIDIA driver, and therefore will NOT work with SteamOS
