The Roots sunt preferatii mei. De peste 20 de ani scot albume, toata discografia e excelenta, si sincer nu prea vezi grupuri de rap care sa arate asa
:
PS: sunt formatia actuala a The Tonight Show, cu Jimmy Fallon lol

Nu inteleg care e faza cu Kendrick Lamar, ma simt batran. Are carisma, are voce, are talent, but I can't hear the music in his music.
"I" si "King Kunta" sunt cat de cat piese mai straightforward, dar restul albumului are cele mai experimentale beat-uri cu putinta, cu cele mai random flow-uri si niste versuri care probabil se adreseaza culturii ghetto or somthing ca nu am nici cea mai mica idee ce mesaj vrea sa transmita. Si asta in conditiile in care il inteleg pe Lil B.

Kendrick Lamar e cel mai deceitful rapper din industrie. Scoate 2-3 single-uri aparent simpluțe, câștigă fani, ăia descarcă albumul și după câteva melodii fan base-ul lui se înjumătățește pentru că majoritatea se așteptau la melodii de dat din cur. Asta în timp ce Kendrick Lamar abordează în melodiile lui subiecte precum alcoolismul, depresia, violența în cartier/domestică/de orice tip, închisoarea, dilema afro-americanului milenial, etc. Ador când un artist din mainstream face asta
Descrierea single-ului "'These Walls'' de pe rap genius:
The title “These Walls” plays off the familiar expression “if these walls could talk…” Kendrick’s complex wordplay introduces layered metaphorical and literal walls—the “walls” of a woman’s vagina, the walls of a prison cell, and ultimately the “walls” of his mind and conscience. Kendrick uses this conceit to explore sex, abuse, his own career, his enemies, and the human psyche.
The song narrates Kendrick having sex with a woman who has children with a man in jail for killing one of Kendrick’s friends. Kendrick views this as an act of revenge for his slain friend, but he also has a bad conscience about using his fame and power to seduce someone for that purpose.
Ultimately “these walls” represent being imprisoned by the entire situation: an allegory for a cycle of murder, lust, seduction, revenge and guilt.
