Meama ce thread mistoc! Eu-s inclinata mai mult pe partea de psihedelic, horror, univers, ciudatenii in general, asa ca uite ce descoperiri am mai facut:
The style is heavily influenced by medieval religious iconography, where each piece was meant to be used as an educational tool as well as an object of veneration. Different elements had specific meanings and these meanings could be pieced together to make a powerful emotional impression. In these panels I try to align this practice with that of medical illustration--at once the antithesis of mysticism, yet bearing a how-to manual that would read intriguingly similar to a manual for icon usage. In addition, icons have traditionally been a point of contention within the church for attempting to illustrate the divine and inevitably ending up with something ordinary : I like to (try) taking this a step further by "opening" up the figures so that they, in fact, resemble us all.
