Chestia e că nu există ”se fac prea multe jocuri”. Jocurile se fac atât cât există cine să le cumpere și să le joace, deci prea multe nu e posibil fiindcă nu există în vid, din punct de vedere comercial treaba asta se auto-reglează. Evident, jocuri nu se fac doar dintr-o perspectivă comercială, dar despre astea vorbim aici. Sunt sute de hidden object games, nu cred că toate reprezintă o opțiune pentru tine, asta pentru că sfera de interes a unui consumator de jocuri (sau altceva) e ceva care se formează în timp. Vrei nu vrei, prin preferințele dobândite vei filtra ce joci.

Sau poti sa observi fragmentarea chiar aici pe forum, hell, avem un tip care joaca doar titluri Paradox .

Da, și avem alții care joacă doar free to play-uri. Există însă forumuri pentru jocurile Paradox și pentru F2P-uri, unde cei cu aceleași interese se pot intersecta. De fapt, vei vedea asta pe orice forum mare (pe RPS se organizează de ani buni ligi de BB), LEVEl cu cei 20 de membrii activi ai săi nu e foarte relevant. Plus că pagina de community din Steam e una din caracteristicile pozitive ale platformei.

Pai rezolvare problemei astea e simpla. Jucati mai multi jocurile pe care le joc eu.

Nu sunt de acord cu argumentul fragmentarii. Cand eram mic cei mai multi dintre noi jucam Quake, Counter Strike, Starcraft, Heroes 3 si puteam purta conversatii despre astea cu mai oricine pentru ca erau cele mai populare jocuri ale vremii. E ca si cum un adolescent de azi ar juca Dota, Lol, Csgo, Starcraft 2, niste Wow sau mai stiu eu ce, si sunt sigur ca isi va gasi parteneri de conversatie pe marginea acestor jocuri la fel de usor. Si atunci si acum sunt destui care joaca jocuri nu la fel de populare si care isi vor gasi mai greu parteneri de conversatie din cercul lor de prieteni. Cu cati puteai vorbi in adolescenta despre Deus Ex sau ultimul Monkey Island? Cu cati poti vorbi acum de FTL sau ultimul joc Paradox?

Singurul lucru care s-a schimbat fata de tineretea noastra e numarul jocurilor si a jucatorilor, proportiile sunt more or less the same. Iar "more choice is less choice" mi se pare profund eronat. Suntem diferiti, vrem lucruri diferite, nu stiu de ce e rau ca varietatea ofertei de jocuri e in continua crestere.

The Steam store page could soon be drastically changing. That's according to SteamDB, who have been sleuthing out CSS stylesheets and digging through updates to the Steam Translation Server. Their investigations have found references to new content curation options, new frontpage behaviour, and a variety of additional improvements.

Here's a run-down of what's been found:

Content Curation: this would allow individuals or groups to recommend games to their followers. It sounds a bit like the current reviews feature, but would likely integrate more fully into the store's frontpage. Valve has increasingly stepped away from curating their platform, so it makes sense that they would shift the responsibility onto their users.

Discovery Queue: seemingly this will work like Greenlight's queue, offering you a selection of games tailored to your preferences and filters.

Followed Games: this appears to be a replacement for official game groups—letting you instead follow the games themselves.

Owned Highlighting: an icon that will appear next to games that you own or have in your wishlist—preventing you from being all "oh, that game is cheap, I'm going to buy it", and then later, going "oh, I already own it. Woe is me and my appalling financial decisions". This function is similar to that offered by many third-party apps, like the brilliant Enhanced Steam.

Two-step Authentication: new methods of authenticating Steam Guard beyond your email address. SteamDB reference the Steam Mobile app and Google Authenticator as alternatives.

Search Revamp: more options for searching, including tags, features, number of players and operating system.

Personalised Frontpage: more control over which games appear on the store page, for instance, new releases, popular new releases, games that are not in your account, or DLC for games you already own.

While none of this is officially confirmed, the references were found within Steam's servers—lending credibility to their eventual introduction. It also makes sense given the recent beta overhaul of the Steam library, which is now slightly bluer, and lets people select multiple games as part of a quest to easily categorise everything.

Spune-le asta producatorilor care refuza sa isi reduca semnificativ produsele, desi nu stiu cati au mai ramas. De curiozitate, la ce joc mai vechi de un an nu ai prins o reducere de 75%? Ca in afara de Skyrim Legendary Edition si titlurile Activision (care apropo, nu au fost reduse semnificativ nici pe Gamersgate, GMG, etc..) nu imi vine nici un exemplu in minte.

Si incearca sa fi mai succint, am impresia ca rabdarea celor care inca iti mai citesc posturile incet incet o sa se evapore.

Referitor la titlurile publicate de Activision, avand in vedere ca ei fac foarte rar reduceri, pe la inceputul lui Iunie am prins Transformers: Fall of Cybertron la -75% (13€ din 50 pret intreg). Some kind of big deal with this?

To enable it, go to the remote computer and enable hardware encoding in the advanced host options.
• Added support for NVIDIA ShadowPlay, which enables hardware accelerated OpenGL capture. To enable it, go to the remote computer, enable ShadowPlay in the GeForce Experience and go to Steam and enable hardware encoding in the advanced host options.
• Added support for streaming from Linux hosts

A Twitch of Fate: Gamers Shamelessly Wiped Clean

We recently received a report from a concerned user about malware that is being advertised via Twitch's chat feature. A Twitch-bot account bombards channels and invites viewers to participate in a weekly raffle for a chance to win things such as "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" items:

This malware, which we call Eskimo, is able to wipe your Steam wallet, armory, and inventory dry. It even dumps your items for a discount in the Steam Community Market.

Sa fiu sincer, e probabil una din cele mai ok lucruri pe care le-a facut Steam in ultimii 2 ani in privinta expunerii jocurilor din magazin. Dupa ce au deschis portile si au lasat toate jegurile la liber, era aproape imposibil sa gasesti de unul singur ceva decent direct din client-ul Steam.

Doar ca acum publicatiile de gaming vor fi si mai legate de publisheri, iar suspiciunile de "review-uri platite" se vor inteti. Macar poti sa te abonezi doar la cei in care ai incredere.

Nici mie nu-mi place din cauza ca trebuie sa dau scroll in jos pana ajung la specials. Cred ca noile imbunatatiri trebuiau incluse dupa acest tab sau nu stiu cum sa-l numesc mai exact.
