Damage Model-ul lor mi-a adus imediat aminte de IL2, faptul ca vezi structura de sub fuselaj in timp ce spargi nava.

Combo-ul FPS + Space Sim e o chestie care a mai fost incercata si de Mace Griffin cu destul de multi ani in urma, joc care a imbatranit destul de bine luand in considerare ca a fost lansat in 2003 (time flies, plm). Impresionant era modul in care treceai seamless de la sectiunea de dogfight la pac-pac pe statii spatiale sau baze scobite in asteroizi. Imi placea faptul ca puteai da drumul la mansa si te puteai plimba prin mica ta nava oricand vroiai, chiar si intr-un dogfight lol, efectiv intrai in nava, plecai cu ea din baza si puteai oricand sa te uit pe geam, sa te plimbi prin ea, etc.

Si ceva play footage aici [>] .Ce e amuzant e ca dpdv stilistic pare a fi chiar si un prequel pentru seria Mass Effect, mai ales cand ma uit la personajul principal (acum mi-am dat seama ca e vocea lui Henry Rollins in spatele personajului lol), iar din ce imi aduc aminte unele nivele aveau un aer vag Mass Effect, ca arhitectura/design. E un joc destul de decent si bine inchegat pe care l-as recomanda, mai ales pentru cei care asteapta Star Citizen cu sufletul la gura. Dar e un joc ce trebuie abordat cu asteptari modeste, nefiind neaparat o experienta cutremuratoare nici la vremea lui, chiar si cu toate inovatiile tehnice pe care le-a adus in privinta nivelelor destul de mari si a sistemului de loading seamless.

The tl;dr is that we feel the current build doesn’t feel like it lives up to the standards we’ve want to achieve with Star Citizen.

Băi, eu n-am suportat WC (mi s-a părut foarte adecvat acronimul) niciodată. Jucat ceva Star Trek, dar cel mai mult Terminal Velocity, Descent (+Freespace), Freelancer. You know, actual games, not some other monster.
SC mi se pare în egală măsură un joc piramidal tematic glorificat, însă admir abilitatea tipului de bullshit și fundraising.
Ce face efectiv mi se pare chintesența prostului gust, superficialității și opulenței tipic Hollywood-iene. Partea socială și erpegistică spațială au acoperit-o foarte bine kotor-urile. Games (I'd play) don't really need any more of that. Pentru altele, există deja Elite Dangerous, X, remake-urile Homeworld... eu unul nu văd unde ar mai încăpea și SC.

Da, ok, grafica e cool. But so what.

Cu ocazia game awards, Star Citizen va putea fi jucat gratuit pana pe 14 Decembrie.

Nu, au schimbat la un moment dat, au trecut la Lumberyard (de la Amazon). Au avut parcă și ceva proces cu Crytek din cauza asta.

South African billionaire Clive Calder’s family office and his son Keith Calder’s Snoot Entertainment are investing $46 million in Cloud Imperium Games, the studio behind Star Citizen, an uncompleted video game that’s raised a record $210 million directly from fans. The Calders’ 10% stake, the studio’s first backing from a large investor, signals a turning point for the independent developer and its cofounder Chris Roberts, who has repeatedly sought to stem skepticism that the game will run out of money before it’s completed.
Fans and investors have thrown over $250 million at Star Citizen. But it won’t hit store shelves until at least 2020

Star Citizen's latest Free Fly event is now underway
Star Citizen's Free Fly event will run until 6:59am on 4th November in the UK, and is intended to show off everything that's been introduced in the latest Alpha 3.7 update. This includes planetary caves, first-person mining, player interdiction, mission sharing, and more

Five ships will be available during the event - the Consolidated Outland Mustang Alpha, Banu Defender, Roberts Space Industries Aurora MR, Drake Cutlass Black, and the Avenger Titan - and full details of how to participate can be found on the Star Citizen Free Fly webpage.
